it wasn't until after i left the theater that i remembered the belly aching surrounding the movie's so called anti-religious message. personally, i didn't make the connection as i was watching--i was too absorbed with the visuals and the fantasy aspect of the movie. sure the world in the movie parallels our own and if we're supposed to walk away feeling as if religious institutions are being questioned or attacked, i see nothing wrong with kicking up a little dust.
