as much as i dislike the jerry springer show, i was a sweaty mess at the fitness center this afternoon because of it. some guy was watching who wants to be a millionaire at first, but then he found the springer show after a little channel surfing. the next thing i know, i'm running on the treadmill as if i was trying to make my way to the studio to smack some sense into the people on the show. i'm always looking for a little motivation to keep my heart rate up, but i certainly hope this doesn't become part of my routine...watching the springer show, that is.
and a random video about running in place:
the number of times one mosquito bit me before meeting a bloody death between my clapping hands. now i have six welts on my left leg, one on my right, all of which i've crossed out with my nail and rubbed with tiger balm for good measure. i won't be itching for a while but i'll be wondering if the bugger was carrying the west nile virus.
my morning is off to a refreshing start.

when i'm driving at night, i love taking pictures of lights and of course there's no time to set up a tripod or pull over to take a steady shot. so, when i see something that catches my eye, i just point and shoot. i really enjoy the randomness of the whole experience and the element of surprise. who knows what the image will look like--it could be a big mess but an appealing mess nonetheless. i'm always happy when the picture takes on the look and feel of an abstract painting.
in this particular shot, my brother and i were heading to a friends house and i was in the passenger seat. we were stopped in front of a really cool looking office building, brightly lit, and i thought it would be great to see the lights in motion. i used the camera like a painter's brush and let my hand move across the canvas in front of me, and the rest of the story is...a blur.
so, i was watching a video called the little girl giant that a friend posted on LJ a while back and the puppet in the video reminded me of the gelflings (jen and kira) from the dark crystal. next thing i know, i'm on imdb.com and i find this: the power of the dark crystal. i cannot believe it--a sequel to one of my favorite childhood movies. i'm feeling a little ick right now because i had no idea this was in the works, and i'm not sure i like the idea of CGI puppets, but that's just me.
anyway, here's the video i was watching earlier that reminded me of the puppets in the dark crystal:
UGH. my wrists, legs and arms are so sore from playing racquetball last night. not to mention, my abs feel like they're on fire. i haven't been on the court since last year and even though i had a lot of fun playing with my brother and a few of our friends, i'm paying for it today.
i am so out...of...shape.
