a wii bit of damage

last week at microcenter i watched a girl and her dad play tennis on the wii. that was the first time i'd thought about santa in a while...he'll be getting a letter from me this year :)

and this morning i'm listening to the news and i hear "wii have a problem." doesn't stop me from wanting one though.

LCD takes one to the face.
"I was bowling with my roommate, it was his first time. It took him about 4 frames to get the hang of it. At about he 5th frame he was really getting into it decided he wanted to throw the ball harder. He went to throw the ball and in the process he hit my end table, causing the wiimote to fly out of is hand. At first all I saw was the broken wiimote, then he was like, "dude, I'm so sorry", I looked up and saw my cracked 20 inch LCD Sharp Aquos. He immediately wrote me a check and my new TV is on the way now."

heroes, how do you stop an exploding man?

Heroes - Peter Petrelli

i watched the latest episode of heroes, finally! it keeps getting better with each episode. for my friends, or anyone who hasn't seen the show, you're heading into spoiler material now...

i have to say, i don't like the idea of one of my favorite heroes exploding. not one bit. peter was looking rather putrid during the interrogation scene and i still get the feeling that he saved the wrong cheerleader. if he had saved claire's friend, maybe he wouldn't have died, come back to life and be the cause of the world going supernova. something must have happened when peter absorbed claire's healing ability and now hiro and the gang have to figure out how to stop him from exploding. it's all claire's fault. i'm no whiz at reading lips but i'm pretty sure she said "i'm sorry" in peter's dream. yeah, sorry for saying she'd died before and it wasn't a big deal. poor peter.

one of my favorite lines, from this episode, besides hiro's "how do you stop an exploding man?" was a line by claire's friend when they were on the track field -- "are you on crystal meth or something cuz this is really cracky behavior." speaking of cracky behavior. i'm glad to see isaac can predict the future drug free. and his latest painting of hiro and the dragon--didn't we see the future hiro with a sword on the subway in an earlier episode?

kelleah, budd, you both have some interesting ideas about the characters...claire's dad having powers to mute powers and sylar being indestructible if he absorbs claire's power. tell me more!

i'm still trying to figure out how sylar was captured in the first place with such little effort. and since the haitian guy can erase memories, why couldn't he do it to sylar? oh, and does anyone else get the feeling that our heroes are part of some sort of experiment?

i'd love to hear more thoughts about the show...

so i'm hearing about some old news for the first time today:

50 Cent Disses Oprah

sorry 50, please help us understand your definition of a black woman. from what i gather after reading some of the lyrics to your songs, all women are treated the same...like bitches and hoes, right? what you rap about is (in my opinion) disrespectful to ALL women, so why do you care about the demographics of oprah's audience? and on top of that you glorify the gangsta life, that crime pays. is this how you define a black man?

personally, i cannot relate to what you have to say in your music. some people may try to sympathize with the struggles you've been through, but what makes you think people in oprah's audience would? seriously, why would you WANT to be on her show anyway? obviously your "product" doesn't cater to that kind of audience, the audience you so clearly recognize as middle-aged white women. i think you need to have a chat with your marketing manager.

maybe oprah had your best interest in mind and saved you from embarrassment. imagine having to answer to oprah if she asked what you've done to give back to the community. more bling? more bang for a buck? i did see your g-unit clothing line but it's like mr. t trying to be a fashion designer. makes no sense. is that why it wound up at the marshall's department store i visited last week? i do understand you're in the business of making money so who wouldn't want to be on oprah.

50 cent bulletproof video game

i'd like to know what you've done to help people, especially the youth, strive for a better way of life. i don't see you making headlines for your charitable ways and TRYING to save lives. if anything, you're doing the opposite. the first thing i read for the 50 cent bulletproof game info is: "the 50 cent experience is now portable. shoot, punch and throw enemies through 16 different levels..." were you planning on giving out free copies of the game on oprah's show? but of course not! i can't imagine that the audience would have been happy with the content you're pushing as "entertainment".

i'll admit that i've listened to your music because i like the beats, but it's what you say and the things you do that make no sense to me.

i'm so mad at myself right now. my brother called tonight and asked if i had watched heroes. nope. totally forgot. and last week's episode was GOOD--we learned so much about all the characters to keep me wanting to watch more. but i missed tonight's episode and of course i'm pouting. usually, a bunch of us will get together and make a night of it by grabbing dinner and then watching at someone's place. but i'm still out of town this week and no one reminded me that it was on. not even my brother. some friends i have! it's every man for himself, i see. well, i can't complain too much. it'll be on sci-fi...and my brother recorded it. thanks bro! sooo glad you have tivo.
