What song or lyrics are stuck in your head at the moment? What album is it from?
Submitted by Lox Ly.
The song is Oh My Love by Baxter. Yet another album I have in heavy rotation.

I have a sorrow
It never leaves me alone
Grief is a burden I can rely on
There is a place
Look for me there
There is a place
Look for me here
I'm under my willow
Crying my sad song for you
My willow a place I need
When I'm not in the mood
There is a place
Look for me here
There is a place
Look for me there
Oh my love
Don't take it too serious
Oh my love
Oh my love
Oh my love
Don't take it too serious
Oh my love
Oh my love
I have a sorrow
That never leaves me alone
Grief is a burden I carry lie on
There is a place
Look for me there
There is a place
Look for me here
Oh my love
Don't take it too serious
Oh my love
Oh my love
Crystal said: I decided I wanted to do the same random questionnaire that Greg did... He skipped a few so if there is any preceded with a ?? I just made up a question.
Now I'm responding to the same questionnaire...
1. What time did you get up this morning? 5:50AM.
2. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Snakes on a Plane. OMG, it was a blast.
3. ?? What did you eat for dinner last night? Baked chicken.
4. What is your favorite TV show? Don't really have one at the
moment. Haven't had cable in over a month and a half. But,
last season LOST was my favorite.
5. What do you usually have for breakfast? Coffee and a fried egg with cheese smothered in Tabasco sauce.
6. Favorite cuisine? Well, I'm half Korean and African American, so I'd have to say Asian-American food is my favorite.
7. What is your middle name? I don't have one.
8. What food do you dislike? Cow brains. In high school, my Latin
class had a potluck dinner where we all had to bring an authentic
Roman dish. A classmate brought something made with cow brains, and when I
tasted it... Never again.
9. What is your favorite CD at the moment? I agree with Crystal, "that's hard to say....whatever is cool on Pandora.”
10. What kind of car do you drive? A hyper blue 2005 Mini Cooper
11. Favorite sandwich?
Turkey with baby spinach, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella and
whole grain mustard. Hot sauce doesn't go well on these
sandwiches.
12. What characteristic do you despise? Apathy.
13. Favorite item of clothing? Red wool winter coat.
14. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation? Italy. Australia.
15. What color is your bathroom? off white.
16. Favorite brand of clothing? I'm with Crystal on this one, too. "don't really have a
favorite...i'm sort of all over the map depending on what grabs my
attention."
17. Where would you retire to? Retire? Don't make me laugh!
18. What was your most memorable birthday?
Uh, this is memorable in the not-so-happy sense. Boston,
2004. I was walking over the Mass Ave bridge to Cambridge when I
saw firemen walking on the frozen Charles River, pulling a stretcher
with a covered body. I could see legs and rollerblades... It was
a student
who had been missing for a while.
19. ?? What was the last song I loaded into your iPod? Don't own one.
20. Furthest place you are sending this to? "who knows, it's blogged."
21. ?? What is your most hated chore? Vacuuming.
22. ?? What is your favorite piece of jewelry? earrings
23. Favorite saying? cool.
24. ?? What's your signature drink? Mojito.
25. Are you a morning person or a night person? Morning.
26. What is your shoe size? 5 1/2 or 6. Depends on the shoe.

29. What did you want to be when you were little? It was either a ballerina or an astronaut.
30. ?? What smell transports you back in time? The burned sugar on top of creme brulee. When my family lived in Korea there were vendors that made candy by burning sugar, a small amount of flour and water in a small pan...
31. ?? What are you most relieved about right now? That my artwork isn't sitting in a closet and is now in my living room.
32. ?? I'm too tired to make up another question now... This is tiring!!
33. What is a day on the calendar you are looking forward to? October 26th. My friends are coming for a visit from Connecticut.
34. What are you listening to right now? The neighbor above me moving furniture.
Show us something that takes your breath away.
I came across these on flickr today, and I was blown away...

I wish
there was an English version. You'd think six years of Latin
would help out in the least bit with translating. Nope.
It's late and I just felt like getting this post in before the day is
over. The visuals and interactivity are so fantastical that it
reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Amelie. Ahh-mazing.
What books are on your nightstand?
I've had a copy of Barry Glassner's book The Culture of Fear for a few years. Surprisingly, I hadn't gotten around to reading it until recently. There's a sticky tab on the Introduction page from where I started to read, but must have been distracted by one thing or another. Quite a long distraction considering I bought it in 2001.
I picked up a Glassner's book when I was living in Boston and needed to understand what I was dealing with, emotionally and psychologically, after the 9/11 attacks. Back then, I remembered Bush's appeal to us:
"So what I urge the American people to do is just to remain vigilant, to pay attention, to not be embarrassed to report something they think looks strange or, you know, unusual, that that's all we really can do. But just to continue to go about our lives in a normal way. I think that's a very important example to set, for instance, for our children." (American Morning with Paula Zahn)
I have to admit, I was going overboard with the *remain vigilant* crap
and my nerves were so frayed back then. I wasn't living a normal life AT
ALL. So, why the need to read the book after it had been sitting
on my shelf for so long? I was motivated to follow through on
someting I should have done a long time ago, thanks to mcco12's post about
fear and the U.S. media.
