i love walking around my neighborhood. it's usually quiet and the scenery is pretty nice. these are things i look forward to on my walks but when i find people's trash on the ground, i start seeing red.

Yeah, this type stuff ends up in my yard. Yes, I have to pick up other peoples trash out of my yard, and it sucks just as much as you think it might.

I thought the beer bottle had sort of an existential coolness to it... but the cigarette pack would just annoy me...

i hate that in my neighborhood as well... like, if it was a beer bottle or an empty pack of cigs, i would pick it up. but sometimes, it's like, ppl's leftover fast food bags? i'm like, what's wrong with these people? the trash bins are RIGHT THERE. it's so annoying. oh, and then it gets worse because instead of picking it up, the next person will just run over it. ugh. i hate that even MORE.

I share the same sentiment. Especially after coming back from visiting relatives in Germany where you don't see that as much.

oh, i do the same thing (picking up other's trash) if there's a trash can nearby. no point in letting it sit there, but it's annoying as hell that people leave their mess behind.

i definitely agree on the "existential coolness". :)

i think apathy plays a big part in why people litter, or pure laziness. *sigh*
