a photo from last year since i missed out on photographing my mom's garden earlier this year. she grows a variety of lettuce and other veggies but lettuce is one of my favorite because i'll wrap just about anything i can with it, as far as food goes. :)
ssoooo good. pronunciation is a tough one to get across in english but it's not like the name Sam, but s-ah-m. and the more i say it, the more i crave some now!
Why is it that some letters are doubled in Korean? Does a double 's' change the way the 'a' is pronounced? I figured it was s-ah-m actually, since it doesn't seem that many asian languages actually use the 'a' from sam. Ha.
ohhh, you're asking the wrong girl. i had a convo with my mom about the double letters and i'm not sure i understand. she went on to talk about the korean alphabet and character pronunciation, and why it makes sense but i couldn't tell ya. i can carry on a basic level of conversational korean, and that's about it.
i did eat fish and other seafood during that month but the last couple of days were rough. i was craving chicken and beef but i made it through the challenge and the first thing i ate after it ended was kimbap which had a little beef in it.
I think I'm going to "cheat" and do it sometime this summer. That way I can raid all the fresh fruits and vegetables at the Farmer's Markets and then maybe even forget that I love meat! We'll see how that goes....

Hahaha... so how is this pronounced? Is it like the "dd" in dduk boki? It's just "sam"?
