QotD: Hey, I Was Just A Kid
What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day?
i bit my brother. we had been fighting about something and it got physical, so i went for his leg. a few days later it started to bruise and it looked hideous. we weren't sure what to do and i was so worried that his leg was going to fall off. i was also worried that my parents were going to find out that we'd been fighting, so we agreed to keep quiet about the whole thing. back then, if my brother and i were caught fighting, we both got to fight off "the belt".
anyway, it was around 6th or 7th grade when i learned how serious that bite could have been. i remember my science teacher asking the class which was worse: the bite from a human or an animal? when he told us that the human bite was more dangerous and could cause a nasty infection, i immediately felt guilty, again, for biting my brother.
now that we're older we laugh about what happened but whenever i see the scar on his leg, i feel an inkling of guilt. and then i remind myself that i was just a kid when it happened...

aah, memories.
that's funny! i am told that i hit one of my cousins across the head with a golf iron when i was about 7 or so, but i have no recollection of doing this. anyway, i was a goooood kid, so i think my cousin was just making up stories (though my parents, brother, aunts and uncles all back him up!).
did he ever pull your hair?
as for my brother pulling my hair... honestly, i can't remember. i want to say that he did but i mostly remember us pushing and punching each other.
great. your golf iron story just reminded me that i also used to terrorize and hit my brother with a plastic baseball bat. i'm pretty sure i'll be going to bed feeling a little guilty now... hahaha
