trying to take my mind off this funky mood i'm in so i'll share some photos. they're from last weekend when i went walking around the neighborhood with my brother and poa-poa.

i really liked the crusty looking paint on the hydrant. it was the only one around the neighborhood that wasn't painted silver, and the hibiscus caught my eye because of its pink, ruffly petals.

these daisies were so vibrant and reminded me of little sunflowers. actually, i think the two might be related. besides my orchids and desert rose, i also love daisies and one day i'll try to grow them, again. i didn't have much luck the last time i picked up a gerbera plant--it died after a couple of weeks.

poor poa-poa was exhausted from the walk. it was a typical hot day and she was panting so hard i thought her little body was going to give out. well, as we made our way back to the apartment, she collapsed on the grass and refused to move. after a few minutes we started walking and then i noticed a red budweiser bottle on the ground. i hate litter but i thought the bottle was funny because a cold beer would have been so refreshing at the time.

and on the way back through the pedestrian gate, i saw this bizarre looking spider web. it wasn't the typical spiral web pattern i was used to seeing, it was like window screening instead.

oh, and the bottle--that's so funny that you like the photo. as irksome as it is that some people litter, that bottle looked pretty interesting and i'm not sure why either...
