note to self
never leave a burning candle unattended.
this actually happened a couple of weeks ago but i laughed at myself all over again as i was uploading the photo to flickr. i heard what sounded like a ticking time bomb coming from the living room, walked in to find the candle i left burning for about an hour had sprung a leak and was dripping onto the carpet. i need to stop multitasking at times like this, and find a better candle holder.

Ouch. My ex and I bought a new sofa once, and within maybe two weeks of bringing it home, candle wax dripped down from two wall sconces all over the back of it.
We had candle wax on that sofa for as long as we owned it.
I did this to a tv once.
