lift with your legs
a friend sent me this video and initially, i thought it was really odd because in the beginning it looked like two people balancing a couple of backpacks, trying to decide which direction to move. on top of that, i thought their legs looked emaciated, so i wasn't sure what i was looking at. anyway, you can see a guy's head in the video but when i saw him run off to the side, it freaked the geek out me. it took me a few seconds to realize that the legs were robotic. i've watched it a couple of times, and as much as i think it's pretty damn cool, it's also creepy as hell. take a look.
btw, maybe it's just me, but there were times when a couple of the models reminded me of imperial walkers from star wars (kind of).

i think it wouldn't look so creepy if the legs were more like a horse though (there was a front and a back and the knees didn't both just bend inward like they do).
the awkward looking legs bothered me, too, but for me it was because it looked like two torso-less people hoping around. i had a hard time seeing the mule in the machine.
creepiness aside, i agree with maliekai, "what a feat of engineering!"
