heroes, how do you stop an exploding man?

Comments

Actually, it was a dinosaur (Tyrannosaurus Rex) that Hiro was facing off with the sword in Issac's painting.

Remember, in the episode "Six Months Ago", when Hiro teleported back in time to try to save Charlie the waitress, from death by Sylar, he accidentally jumped back 6 months instead of 1 day, and he realized that he didn't have very good control of his teleportation abilities, he said " If I teleport again, I could end up anywhere. Lunch for a T-Rex! I'm stuck!!"

So when, in the most recent episode, Hiro sees Issac's painting of him and the T-Rex, he says "I better get a sword!" which is why he ends up keeping the sword on him whenever he teleports, so that when the day arrives that he does finally teleport back into the Jurassic by accident and faces the T-Rex, he will have it. I read an interview with the creator/director of the show, and he indicated that the sword becomes/plays a big part for Hiro in the future.

Sylar was caught off-guard when he was captured. Remember he had just fallen off the roof of a building with Peter, (your fav hero who was badly broken and mangled and would have died had it not been for him absorbing Claire's power), and was hurt and groggy, when he came across Maggie, the girl with the ability to put thoughts into people's minds and make them do her bidding. So she told him to sleep and he collapsed. The Hatian wasn't told to erase Sylar's memory by Claire's dad, so he didn't do it.

As for the exploding man part, we know that Peter absorbs and mimics other heroes' powers. So, with that in mind, remember the guy that our mind-reading hero cop, Matt, comes across in one episode, who unintentionally killed his wife because he becomes highly radioactive when he gets really mad or upset, and who subsequently escaped from the FBI? Well I think they run into him again, and he probably tries to kill himself to prevent capture or something, and so Peter, in trying to be the hero and save the world, absorbs radiation man's energy buildup, but unfortunately cannot contain all that radioactive power and explodes with all the force of a nuclear bomb as a result. At least that's what I think the show will lead up to. Of course, that particular future will be changed by Hiro, eventually. :)

Now we just have to wait until the middle of January to see the rest of the show.... Grrrr.

Hmmm. When is StarGate SG-1 and Atlantis coming back on the air? I miss my Sci-Fi Friday nights.

here is the question: Did Isaac's painting change the future or were the paintings themselves what caused the future to happen.

Maybe because the cop was in close proximity to the radioactive man he picked up a form of superpower residue that Peter naturally adapted as his own.

Peter's power seems to have a limitation though. Be it using the power or a certain amount of time to use the power.

Jessica's power is only super strength. The two personalities are a mental condition. She could use the power as Jessica as easily as she does when she is Nikki, I bet.

Oh, another theory. I think sylar's powers are about seeing how things work and fixing things to work in that way. He might have been able to see how the room worked and reverse the flow of the room so that it muted her powers instead of his own.
I am really enjoying this show! It is a great hold over till LOST comes back on in Feb.

As for the exploding man part, we know that Peter absorbs and mimics other heroes' powers.

I was just going to say that. I don't think you have to worry, hon. Peter is too involved in the story and too well-loved. I can't see his character getting taken off anytime soon. ^__^

whoa. i totally forgot to come back to the comments for this post. sorry!

timberwolf, thanks for the clarification--now, i remember it was a dinosaur and not a dragon. and you have an interesting theory about peter and radioactive poisoning.

budd, i hate to say it but i just can't get into nikki's character. she annoys the crap out of me. now isaac's paintings--you have an interesting:
Did Isaac's painting change the future or were the paintings themselves what caused the future to happen.
seeing as how hiro has established that he can't change the past, i think isaac paints the future. i don't know if we can say that anyone has changed the future because everything isaac paints, happens. that's just what i think at the present moment, but i'm that will change in the future.

and about sylar, i think he was able to grab eden because either mr. bennet or haitian guy wasn't there to stop sylar from using his power. remember, bennet was in the room with eden when sylar's powers were rendered useless, so to speak? haitian guy was also in the hallway after they left.

so my question is, is it bennet or haitian guy that can mute people's powers.

chadman, you and me both! i love this show and i'm going to have myself a little marathon and watch the episodes again online.

lauren, so very true. peter is too involved but deep down i have a feeling he has to die. in his dream, he sees everyone running away from him except his brother. nathan is the only one who was eerily calm and didn't run from peter. i think nathan will save the world because he knows his purpose--to fly peter away from the world. wait, then that would mean nathan will die, too! oh no. i hope what i say doesn't happen in the future ;-)
After watching a rerun. The hatian was on the hilltop when they caught Sylar. Eve was too confident to just be winging it on her powers alone. So she had to know that the hatian was muting his power.

Can Peter absorb multiple powers at once? Was the cheerleader in the picture claire or the other blonde that actually did die. Everything Isaac has painted has happened. He painted NY blowing up. It is going to happen.

Budd: If you ask me, Isaac neither caused or changed the future. He was part of the events, and he also predicted that in the future, the past would be changed, remember the comic book? So yes, he changes it, but only to a certain extent, because him changing it was a part of the events in heroes.

Which makes me think... How can 2 Hiro's exist at once? This might be leading off topic, I don't know, but how can both people have been the same people in different bodies? I mean... Oh, this is complicated... This is the clearest I can put it; How can they have the same sense of being?
If they don't then they're completely different people, right?
i understand what you're saying luci, and that's why time travel just doesn't make any sense, in my opinion.
I guess that having it happen in a future that we saw counts as it happening. so, what about the roach.
duuuude. are you talking about the roach in the season finale?!
oh yeah. it seems to be saving sylars life.
i know! but i'm sure it's all coincidence. or, like you said, it could be the "faceless super villain". HA!
