foot in mouth

Oh my! Sorry. Sometimes my brain just konks out on me too. I've said worse.

You know, if you don't speak to someone often these things can and will slip your mind. Don't beat yourself up about it.

yikes!

it's okay... don't feel bad... that happens... :) anyway, you haven't talked to him in a long time...

xo
I once asked my dad how his brother Bob was doing --- he looked at me increduously and said, "Bob died two years ago -- you were at his funeral". God, I still feel like crap when I think about that.
that's awful. and totally a conversation i know i've had. great re-telling, though! i felt bad for enjoying it! :D
Ok so once I called my best friend almost two weeks after her birthday. Good thing her sister answered the phone:)
it's all good. i felt bad and at the same time, i couldn't help but laugh at myself. it's good to have a sense of humor at times like that. well, i laughed more so because my dad and my brother were laughing at me and my denny crane moment.
In August I saw my niece for the first time in probably 10 years. She was sitting at the table eating take out when I walked into my mom's house. We talked for twenty minutes. When she had to go back to work, she got up and walked across the living room. She was limping/dragging her feet. I came so close to asking her what she'd done to her leg(s). Before it came out, I remembered that she was born with cerebral palsy! I'd taken care of her after her surgery when she was 4!

Some things I surely shouldn't admit to, but I thought it might make you feel better. Cheers.
oh, my. thank goodness you remembered before you asked.
steve, i just remembered a conversation i had with my brother some time ago. i'd asked him what he remembered about my grandfather's funeral (since i was not able to attend) and he said he wasn't there. well, he was, and forgot that he was also a pallbearer. memory is a fickle thing.
