And the cone looks good too.
as for my brand of choice? oh, there are many. i like to try different ones because some colors catch my eye more than other brands. i mostly have revlon, sonia kashuk, and finger paints in my manicure caboodle. i did find an amazing red nail polish color by cover girl called really red, but the one i'm wearing in this photo is l.o.v.e. by sonia kashuk. i also use opi though i just got rid of most of them since they were clumping. i love nailene and orly for french manicures but i rarely paint the white tips on my nails since i keep them on the short side.
i know you're a busy momma, but do you polish your nails? :)
okay, back to nail polish. :) i always use a base coat and it's usually sonia kashuk's "base & top coat". sometimes i'll do a top coat after my color (1-2 coats) but i wait a few days after the color dries.
sonia is exclusive to target, i think, and i've only seen her line there. the opi line i don't buy as much because, well, the pricing is ridiculously high these days. i won't pay $7 for opi and usually buy them when they're on sale. the same goes for revlon. i'll buy opi at trade secret, but my mom gets them from a store that i'm not familiar with for half the price of most salons. btw, i've noticed that opi's polish doesn't last long on my nails and i agree with your sister--the cheaper brands do stay on longer!
i used to wear "wet 'n wild" but i found the "finger paints" brand at sally's beauty supply store for less than $3 (sometimes two for the price of one) and the polish lasts a while with a base coat. on average, i'd say the polish stays on for a little over a week before it starts chipping, unless i pick at them. it's a habit i have when i'm nervous or stressing about something.
i'd say my two favorite places to shop for nail polish are target and sally's. :)
do you find that "wet shine" holds up pretty well? and which drug store did you find it at?
:)
P.S. I used to be OBSESSED with painting my nails! Now I just use nail polish to seal my coverslips onto my tissue samples.
Don't you just love all the thing you can do with nail polish?! I actually use my clear coat to seal jewelry, and of course stop the runs in my stockings. Well, I don't wear stocking now since it's too hot!
